State of CA Vet Reintegration Project
The California Department of Veteran Affairs (CALVET), Veteran Services Division launched this program in January 2009 to develop a way to keep our 3 million plus service members, veterans and dependents stay connected and informed. Today, California houses the largest military, veterans and veteran dependents as residents. The State of California Veteran Reintegration Project is a free process that connects the service members, military families and veterans to federal, state, and local benefits, new law regarding veterans, statewide resources and much more. Through an automation process and the development of the online form, the Reintegration Project's future goal is to have the capability of collecting the veterans’ information which will allow CALVET the ability to connect the veteran population to an extensive list of resources available to them at the federal, state, local levels including government and non-governmental organizations. Furthermore, this process will assist CALVET in the dissemination of information statewide, informing veterans of their entitlements and benefits, resources and opportunities, any new legislation or other veteran related topics, changes in VA regulations and/or policy and any new resource that come available to the veteran population. CALVET is fervent about helping members transition, reintegrate and receive the assistance that is well deserved throughout their life.
