Welcome to What’s New at ADP! We would like to fill you in on all updated news here at the Department; whether it’s new events or legislation, reports or programs, we want you to know about it! Take a look and if you have any questions, contact us at askadp@adp.ca.gov.
The 2010 conference at the Radisson Hotel in Sacramento is intended to build unity across the field in providing a venue for shared language, learning, cross-training and networking among prevention, treatment and recovery services. The conference will promote universal understanding and use of the public health, chronic care and recovery support frameworks in the continuum of services.
- Sharing the Best to Promote Change: Share new technologies, proven approaches and successes for instituting systemic, programmatic and individual change in order to improve services.
- View the Landscape: Discuss the current environment including California's diverse service needs, information regarding interdependency and trends in other systems, and how it impacts the AOD field.
- Promote Gender and Cultural Responsiveness: Offer current knowledge, skills and resources to address disparities, build alliances, and promote culturally responsive services and systems for California's diverse population.
- Explore Alternative Resources: Share knowledge and skills that allow the field to develop news and leverage existing, funding and other resources.

California Gambling Treatment Services Program
The Office of Problem Gambling (OPG) in partnership with UCLA Gambling Studies Program (UGSP) is currently recruiting licensed therapists to participate in the California Problem Gambling Treatment Service Program (CPGTSP).
To become an authorized provider in the CPGTSP therapists are required to attend state funded training focusing on the treatment of problem and pathological gamblers. Training will consist of four eight hour training days, and will provide the opportunity to obtain up to 30 Continuing Education Units’ (CEU’s) for MFT’s and LCSW’s.
Therapists who meet eligibility criteria may submit an application to UGSP for admittance into training. Due to limited space, admittance into the trainings will be on a first come first serve basis.
After completion of training, a therapist who meets criteria to become an authorized provider will be eligible to receive fee for service reimbursement from the state.

Invitation for Bid (IFB): ADP IFB #09-01 Armored Car Service
You are invited to review and respond to this Invitation for Bid (IFB), entitled "Armored Car Service" ADP IFB #09-01. In submitting your bid, you must comply with the instructions herein.
This contract is for a daily armored car service pickup at one location, Monday through Friday, excluding State Holidays and mandated days off due to present and future Executive Orders (this currently includes the first three (3) Fridays of every month until 6/30/2010), 12 PM – 5 PM. The duration of the contract is for eighteen (18) months.

Each year, the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs submits a report and plan for the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Block Grant application. This block grant is a major source of funding for substance abuse prevention and treatment services in California.

UCLA's Final Report, Evaluation Services to Facilitate the Re-Engineering of a Performance and Outcomes Management System in Support of a Continuum of Services Model: Final Report 2008 is now available on the Office of Applied Research and Analysis' Web Page under "Reports." This report provides literature reviews on performance measurement and management, standards for adoption of performance measurement in California, and recommendations related to performance measurement and management in support of a continuum of services.
California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs Prevention Report: Fiscal Year 2006-07 (PDF)
The most recent statistical data on prevention services—persons served, strategies used, service locations, service populations, and use of Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment grant funds—is now available. Compiled by the Office of Applied Research and Analysis (OARA), the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs Prevention Report for FY 2006-2007 is the result of data collected in the California Outcomes Measurement Service for Prevention (CalOMS Pv), which fulfills federal National Outcome Measures (NOMs) reporting requirements. New Federal Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program.

California Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Report: FY 2007-08 - (PDF) - (DOC)
The Office of Applied Research and Analysis (OARA) has updated and expanded the Californians in Treatment Fact Sheet into the California Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Report. This report contains data for State Fiscal Year (FY) 2007-08 from the California Outcomes Measurement System – Treatment. This report provides admission, discharge, and treatment outcome data.
